Empowering Muslim Women with Financial Knowledge

Muslim women have rights under Islamic law that many do not know about. The right to own property. The right to keep their own money separate from their husband money. The right to a mahr which is a dower paid by the husband. The right to inherit from parents and spouse. The right to financial support from husband during marriage and during the waiting period after divorce. The right to child support for children in their custody.

Yet many Muslim women do not know their rights. They hand over their paychecks to their husbands. They do not have bank accounts in their own names. They do not know how much mahr they are owed. They have no idea what their inheritance share should be. They are financially vulnerable if their marriage ends or their husband dies.

Our Women in Islamic Finance program is designed to change this. We provide education, advisory, and networking specifically for Muslim women. Our all female team creates a comfortable environment for learning and discussion. You can ask questions without embarrassment. You can share your experiences with other women who understand your situation.

We cover your financial rights under Islamic law in detail. We explain mahr, inheritance, maintenance, and divorce provisions. We teach practical money management including budgeting, saving, and halal investing. We provide specialized guidance on zakat for women assets including gold jewelry and savings. We help you plan for different life stages whether you are single, married, a mother, divorced, or widowed.

You can attend our workshops, book one on one advisory sessions, or take our online course at your own pace. All of our instructors are female Islamic finance professionals. They have the qualifications and the lived experience to understand your situation.

Knowledge is power. Financial knowledge is freedom. Claim your rights. Take control of your financial future.

What's Included

Islamic Financial Rights Education

We provide comprehensive education on your financial rights under Shariah. You will learn about mahr including prompt and deferred portions. You will learn how to ensure your mahr is properly documented and what to do if it is not paid. You will learn about inheritance or Faraid including your share as a daughter, wife, mother, or sister. You will learn about your right to financial support or nafaqah during marriage and during the iddah waiting period after divorce. You will learn about child support for children in your custody. You will learn about your right to own property and keep your own earnings separate from your husband. This knowledge is empowering. No one can take away rights you know you have.

Wealth Building Strategies

Many Muslim women rely entirely on their husband income. This is risky. If the marriage ends or the husband dies or becomes unable to work, you may have no income of your own. We teach you how to build your own wealth over time. This includes budgeting to free up money for saving. It includes opening bank accounts in your own name. It includes halal investing in stocks, funds, or Sukuk. It includes starting a small business from home. It includes saving for retirement. You do not need a large income to start building wealth. Small amounts saved consistently over time grow into significant sums. We show you how.

Gold and Jewelry Zakat Guidance

Many Muslim women own gold jewelry. You may have received it as mahr, as wedding gifts, or as savings over the years. But do you know that gold is zakatable? Many women do not. They pay zakat on their cash savings but forget about their gold. We help you calculate zakat on your gold jewelry correctly. We explain how to weigh your gold, determine its purity, and calculate its current market value. We explain the nisab threshold for gold. We advise you on how to pay zakat on gold even if you do not want to sell the jewelry. You can pay zakat from your cash savings. The gold itself is still yours. We also explain zakat on silver which applies to silver jewelry and silver coins.

Divorce and Widowhood Planning

Life can change suddenly. Divorce or the death of a spouse can leave you financially vulnerable if you are not prepared. We help you plan for these possibilities not to be pessimistic but to be prepared. We explain what you are entitled to in divorce: outstanding mahr, mutah consolation gift, child support, housing during iddah, and potentially compensation for unjust divorce. We explain what you are entitled to as a widow: your inheritance share of your husband estate plus any deferred mahr that was promised. We help you understand these rights before you need them. We also help you build your own wealth so you are never dependent on anyone else.

Networking and Community

When you complete our program you gain access to our alumni network of Muslim women interested in Islamic finance. This is a private online community where you can ask questions, share experiences, and support each other. You can connect with women in similar life stages. You can find mentors who have navigated challenges you are facing. You can share resources and recommendations for halal investments, Islamic banks, and female friendly financial advisors. The network is moderated by our team to ensure a respectful and supportive environment. You are not alone. There are thousands of Muslim women on the same journey.

Completion Certificate

When you complete our workshop series or online course you receive a completion certificate. The certificate includes your name, the program name, and the date. It is suitable for adding to your resume or LinkedIn profile. It shows potential employers that you have formal training in Islamic finance. It also shows your family that you have invested in your own education. We provide a digital badge that you can share on social media to celebrate your achievement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need my husband permission to attend these programs?

Our programs are open to all Muslim women regardless of marital status. We do not require spousal permission for you to attend. However we respect that different families have different dynamics. Some husbands may want to know what you are learning. Some may want to attend with you. Some may have concerns about the content. We encourage you to have an open conversation with your husband about why financial education is important for you and for your family. If your husband has questions for us, we are happy to speak with him. We have nothing to hide. Our goal is to empower women within the framework of Islamic law, not to create conflict between spouses. That said, if your husband forbids you from attending, we cannot force the issue. You know your situation best.

Are the instructors female?

Yes all of our instructors for the Women in Islamic Finance program are female. We believe this creates a more comfortable learning environment for Muslim women. You do not need to wear hijab if you do not usually wear it. You can ask questions about sensitive topics like marriage, divorce, and personal finances without embarrassment. Our instructors are qualified Islamic finance professionals. They have degrees from recognized universities and practical experience in the industry. Some of them are mothers and understand the challenges of balancing family and finances. You are learning from women who have walked in your shoes.

Is this program only for wealthy women?

Not at all. Our program is designed for women at all income levels. The basic financial rights education applies to every Muslim woman regardless of wealth. The wealth building strategies work whether you have HKD 100 per month to save or HKD 10,000 per month. The zakat guidance applies to anyone who owns gold or has savings. The divorce and widowhood planning is important for every woman because these events can happen to anyone regardless of income. We do not judge you based on how much money you have. We meet you where you are. Some of our students are university students with part time jobs. Some are stay at home mothers with no personal income. Some are high earning professionals. Everyone is welcome.

What about inheritance do daughters really get half of sons?

The basic rule in the Quran is that a son receives twice the share of a daughter. This is the verse in Surah An Nisa. For example if a man dies leaving one son and one daughter, the son receives two thirds of the children share and the daughter receives one third. However this is not the whole story. There are many exceptions and nuances. If there are no sons, daughters can receive up to two thirds of the estate. If the deceased has a spouse and parents, the shares are different. If the daughter is also a wife or a mother, she receives from multiple categories. The fixed shares in the Quran are actually quite fair when you look at the whole system. A son receives twice the daughter share because he has financial responsibilities that a daughter does not have. He must support his wife and children. He must pay mahr when he marries. A daughter has no such obligations. Her wealth is her own. We explain the complete Faraid system in our program so you understand not just the rule but the wisdom behind it.

Can I attend if I am not in Hong Kong?

Yes our online programs and virtual advisory sessions are available internationally. The online course can be accessed from anywhere in the world. The live workshops are offered via video call for international participants. The one on one advisory sessions are conducted via Zoom or similar platform. The only limitation is time zones. Our live sessions are scheduled in Hong Kong time which is UTC plus eight. If you are in the United States or Europe, the sessions may be in the middle of the night for you. In that case you can watch recordings of the workshops or take the self paced online course. You can also schedule advisory sessions at a time that works for both you and the advisor. We have clients in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore, and Malaysia. Wherever you are, we can reach you.

Do you offer scholarships for women who cannot afford the fee?

Yes we believe that financial education should be accessible to all Muslim women regardless of income. We reserve 10 percent of seats in every workshop cohort and 10 percent of advisory session slots for scholarship recipients. To apply for a scholarship, send us an email explaining your situation. We do not require proof of income. We trust you. We ask only that you be honest. If you can afford the full fee, please pay it so that scholarships remain available for women who truly need them. Scholarship recipients receive the full program including all materials and certificate at no cost. We also offer a payment plan for women who can afford part of the fee but not all at once. You can pay in three monthly installments. Contact us to set up a payment plan.
