Pre marital Islamic Counseling

Prepare for a blessed marriage. Financial planning, communication skills, conflict resolution, and Islamic rights. Four sessions with a qualified counselor.

Prepare for a Blessed Marriage

Marriage is half the faith of a Muslim. It is a sacred bond that brings peace, love, and mercy. But marriage also comes with challenges. Financial disagreements are a leading cause of divorce. Unrealistic expectations lead to disappointment. Poor communication creates distance. Many couples enter marriage without ever discussing important topics. How will we manage money? Joint accounts or separate? Who pays for what? What are our financial goals? How will we handle debt? What happens if one of us loses a job?

Our Pre marital Counseling service helps engaged couples prepare for these conversations. We provide a structured program over four sessions. Each session is 90 minutes. You can attend in person or online. The sessions are led by a qualified Islamic counselor. We cover financial planning, communication, conflict resolution, and Islamic rights and responsibilities.

In the financial session, we discuss budgeting, saving, investing, debt management, and zakat as a couple. We help you create a joint financial plan. We help you set financial goals. Buying a home, having children, saving for education, retirement planning.

In the communication session, we teach skills for healthy discussion. How to listen actively. How to express needs without blame. How to make decisions together. How to handle disagreements without damaging the relationship.

p>In the conflict resolution session, we discuss common sources of conflict. Money, in laws, children, household responsibilities. We provide tools to resolve conflicts constructively. We help you create a conflict resolution plan.

In the Islamic rights session, we discuss the rights and responsibilities of spouses under Islamic law. Mahr, maintenance, housing, intimacy, and dispute resolution. We ensure both parties understand their obligations.

Start your marriage on a solid foundation. Invest in your relationship before problems arise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need pre marital counseling if we already know each other well?

Yes. Even couples who know each other well benefit from structured counseling. You may know each other personalities, likes, and dislikes. But you may not have discussed practical matters like money. Many couples avoid these topics because they are uncomfortable. The counseling provides a safe space to discuss them. You also learn skills you may not have. Communication techniques, conflict resolution methods. These skills are useful even if you already get along well. Most couples who complete our program say they wish they had done it earlier. Do not assume that love is enough. Love needs structure to thrive.

What if only one of us wants to do counseling?

Pre marital counseling works best when both partners participate willingly. If only one partner wants to attend, the sessions may feel like an attack on the reluctant partner. We encourage both partners to attend. If your partner is reluctant, ask them to try one session. They can decide after that. Most reluctant partners find the sessions valuable. They realize that the counseling is not about fixing problems. It is about building a strong foundation. If your partner still refuses, you can attend individual sessions. You will still benefit. You will learn skills to bring to the relationship. But we cannot guarantee the same outcomes.

Do you offer counseling in languages other than English?

Yes. Our counselors speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Urdu. Some also speak Bahasa Indonesia and Arabic. Please specify your language preference when you book. We will assign a counselor who speaks your language. If we do not have a counselor available in your language, we will let you know. We can also provide translation services for an additional fee. However translation is not ideal for sensitive conversations. We recommend finding a counselor who speaks your language directly.

Is the counseling religious or practical?

Both. Our program integrates Islamic teachings with practical relationship skills. The financial session includes Islamic rules of money management. The communication session includes Islamic principles of speech. The conflict resolution session includes Islamic guidance on resolving disputes. The Islamic rights session is focused on Shariah. But the skills we teach are also evidence based. They come from relationship science. We combine the best of both worlds. You learn what Islam says and what research shows. This integrated approach is more effective than either alone.

What if we are already married? Can we still do counseling?

Yes. Our program is designed for engaged couples but can be adapted for newly married couples or even couples married for years. If you are already married, we adjust the content. The financial planning session becomes financial review. The communication session remains the same. The conflict resolution session may focus on existing conflicts. The Islamic rights session may address areas of misunderstanding. Many married couples come to us after years of marriage to refresh their relationship. It is never too late to invest in your marriage.

How much does pre marital counseling cost?

Our pre marital counseling program costs HKD 2,500 to HKD 4,000 for all four sessions. This includes the initial consultation, the four sessions, the written marriage plan, and the completion certificate. We offer a HKD 500 discount if you pay in full upfront. Otherwise you pay per session. We also offer a HKD 1,000 discount if you book our full wedding package including nikah contract and counseling. Contact us for details. We believe that investing in your marriage is the best investment you can make. The cost of counseling is much less than the cost of divorce.
